TU Delft Space Institute
Spaceflight serves scientific, economic and societal needs. The TU Delft Space Institute contributes to these with ground-breaking research from five faculties at Delft University of Technology. The TU Delft Space Institute bundles and creates expertise on space for local, regional and global impact on research, education and valorization. The Institute focuses on three themes: Sensing from Space, Distributed Space Systems and Space Robotics.
Leiden Observatory is the astronomical institute of the Faculty of Science of Leiden University. Established in 1633, it is the oldest university observatory in operation today, with a very rich tradition. Leiden Observatory carries out world class research in the formation of structures in the universe and the origin and evolution of galaxies, the detection and characterization of exoplanets, and the formation of stars and planetary systems. The institute consists of about 35 faculty and adjunct faculty, 50 postdoctoral researchers, 50 MSc and 80 PhD students, and 30 support staff. We offer an excellent educational programme at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels and a renowned PhD programme. Within the Faculty of Science, the institute closely collaborates with the Leiden Institute of Physics, the Mathematical Institute and the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science.
International Institute of Air and Space Law – Leiden Law School
The International Institute of Air and Space Law is one of the leading international academic research and teaching institutes in the world, specialising in legal and policy issues regarding aviation and space activities in the broadest sense of the word. Its objective is to contribute to the development of aviation and space law and related policy by conducting and promoting research and teaching at graduate and post-graduate level. The relevance and topicality of the work is guaranteed by an extensive exchange of information with the air transport and space industry.
